Trademark assignment is a process of transferring ownership of intellectual property of an organisation from one to another. When trademark assignment is initiated the ownership of the brand is transferred from one owner name to another owner name and the brand mark, service mark will have a new owner once the transfer is registered. This assignment can be done with or without the ownership of the business goodwill. All the transactions under trademark assignment must be recorded in Register of trademarks.
